Data Line
Is there a way to use a stand alone fax machine thru a DSL data only line?
I subscribe to a data line only for my DSL broadband. My data line is provided through a phone company but I do not subscribe to a voice/landline phone connection. I do not receive a “dial tone”. It is strictly a data line.
A stand alone fax (not a PC) is required as I need to fax original documents previously faxed to me.
Is there a gadget or some sort of “voodoo” I can conjure up to use a stand alone fax to send/receive faxes utilizing only this data line connection?
a fax requires an analog, duplex line (capable of sending and receiving simultaneously). DSL is ethernet, IP digital data.
Vonage can provide both telephone and fax connection via IP for a reasonable charge.
