Laptop LCD White Bar?
I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 lap top, and recently my screen has had this white bar show up on the screen. Its a vertical bar and its about an inch and a quarter thick. Its towards the right part of the screen. I cant see anything except a white bar there. When i pass the mouse over the bar the mouse disappears. Over the last few days this has been coming and going, but last night into today it has not gone away. When i connect the computer to the TV via an S-Video cable i do not see the white bar on the TV but it is still on the computer monitor…so i dont know what it is. How can I fix this?
Typical reasons:
LCD screen is bad
Bad memory in video card/adapter
Bad connection between motherboard and screen
Drivers corrupted
Reinstall your video card drivers.

Try connecting it to an external monitor. If the external display is OK then it is probably the LCD screen. You should take it in to a local computer shop if not under warranty and get a second opinion.
You can buy a screen on ebay
